Job Description
Trans Kargo Logistics is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the Finance and Accounting team. This position will primarily support vendor payables, partnering with our Accounting, Buying and Receiving teams as well as our vendors to ensure optimal results. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Assist the Accounts Payable department with a variety of administrative tasks such as opening mail, scanning documents, and filing
- Manage vendor inquiries by ensuring requests are routed to the appropriate team member and responses are made in a timely manner
- Route invoices for approval to the appropriate department lead so invoices can be processed for payment
- Support in processing vendor payables
- Assist in the weekly check run process
- Critically research problem invoices that cannot be paid for various reasons
- Assist in identifying and bringing forward process inefficiencies
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance
- A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
- Strong internal customer focus and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Great Plains experience would be a plus
- Associates degree in Accounting preferred
